In four years, the number of residents of the special economic zone "Alga" has increased fourfold. Since 2020, the number of residents has increased from 5 to 21, and the declared volume of investments in their projects has increased from 15.7 billion rubles to 61.8 billion rubles. So, to date, the occupancy rate of the production sites of the SEZ "Alga" is 53.5%.

With the support of the leadership of the republic, we are systematically moving towards the tasks set and a multiple increase in the number of residents of the special economic zone. Many investors interested in the localization of enterprises in Bashkortostan choose the SEZ as a platform for the development of their business due to a number of significant advantages: favorable geographical location, the operation of a free customs zone, as well as the possibility of implementing projects using tax and rental benefits. I would like to note that in 2023 alone, nine companies operating in the field of mechanical engineering, woodworking, and petrochemistry became residents of the SEZ. The investment portfolio for their projects amounted to more than 20 billion rubles, explained Nail Gabbasov, General Director of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Recall that in June last year, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved a decree on the expansion of the territory of the special economic zone "Alga" by including the sites of the Ufa Industrial Park in its composition. As a result of the increase, the total area of the SEZ became 763 hectares. To date, the regional authorities are also working on an additional expansion of its territory by 106 hectares. In addition, earlier, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, announced plans to further increase the SEZ in the cities of Salavat and Agidel.
