The company "Boyard-Ufa" is one of the most popular players in the market of furniture fittings and furniture production in Bashkortostan. To date, the manufacturer has established itself as a reliable partner of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan, which is the management company of the Ufa Industrial Park, where the production of Boyard-Ufa is located. The director of the company Fidel Iskhakov introduced us to the history of the formation and prospects of doing business.

– Fidel Minakhmetovich, tell us how your company's journey began?

The company was registered in 2003. We started with the sale of furniture accessories in the construction markets of Ufa and Sterlitamak. The next stage is the purchase of equipment for the manufacture of furniture. In 2014, I was invited to the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan with a proposal to become a resident of the Ufa Industrial Park. All our activities were carried out on leased premises, which entailed large financial costs and limited development. The terms of cooperation proposed by the RB Development Corporation seemed attractive to us. Since 2015, we have become residents of the technopark. Close cooperation between residents and technopark specialists allowed us to build production in a new location very quickly. The funds available from the lease were directed to the development of the enterprise. Today, together with the Corporation, we have created a fairly efficient enterprise for the production of cabinet furniture with a decent number of jobs. Eighty-five families are provided with a stable income.

If we compare the business conditions of the time when you started and now, what has changed?

– Each time period is determined by its pros and cons. Now the competition has increased, the market has become more transparent. At the same time, working conditions have undoubtedly improved. Many administrative issues that take time and nerves are now being resolved by an official appeal to the Corporation.

They say that during the pandemic, the furniture business became one of the most affected. How did this affect the affairs of your production?

– We are on the list of «the most affected ». In accordance with the federal program, subject to the preservation of jobs, the company was allocated a preferential loan. This helped us a lot, because for almost a month and a half, like everyone else, we did not work. In the summer of 2020, there really was a surge in furniture orders. Perhaps this was facilitated by the fact that people, sitting at home, took a more critical look at their furniture. The company has a stable workload thanks to excellent specialists, modern European equipment and compliance with production technology.

– What, in your opinion, is the key to success in business?

– The work performed should be interesting, bring moral and material satisfaction. The main secret of success is people. Any most modern machine without a competent specialist is a pile of metal. I work with my employees on an equal footing, I need an employee as much as he needs me. Every employee is an important link in the chain, so we try to provide decent pay, a comfortable work schedule and working conditions.

– You said that before the pandemic, you were actively building production facilities. What are your plans for the coming year?

We are planning to open an exhibition hall soon. There is a great desire to open a new direction for the production of painted facades in the fourth building. Planned landscaping of the territory. I think these plans are enough for another difficult year.
