Chinese companies are interested in preferential zones of Bashkortostan

The Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan, which is the management company of the special economic zone "Alga", took part in the webinar "Special economic Zones: the potential of cooperation between Russia and China", organized by the All-Russian public organization "Business Russia". The participants of the meeting, which included representatives of special economic zones and large Russian and Chinese enterprises, discussed the prospects for international trade and economic cooperation.

- China is our strategic partner. Now we intend to increase the pace of cooperation, including by attracting Chinese investors to our preferential zones. In addition, the Development Corporation will provide comprehensive support to export-oriented companies," said Nail Gabbasov, Director General of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan. "We presented to our colleagues the investment potential of the special economic zone "Alga" and the support measures that an investor receives after becoming its resident. Now we will begin a detailed study of further cooperation between Bashkortostan and China.

As a result of the discussion, colleagues from China became interested in the possibility of placing production facilities on the territory of the SEZ PPT "Alga". At the same time, the representative of the pilot zone of regional trade and economic cooperation "China-SCO" Zhang Shijunya noted the need for closer cooperation between the management companies of the preferential zones of Russia and China.

The Special economic zone of industrial and production type "Alga", the management company of which is JSC "Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan", was established in the territories of the Ishimbay and Sterlitamak districts of the republic. This is one of the most successful economic projects of the republic. The preferential zone is located on four separate sites, which allows for the placement of enterprises according to the cluster type. According to the results of the National Rating of investment attractiveness of economic zones of Russia in 2021, the SEZ "Alga" became the most dynamically developing among special economic zones of industrial and production type and received the status of "Opening of the year".
